Mercedes-Benz Reveals The Pricing On Their SLS AMG Supercar

Mercedes-Benz has revealed the official pricing information for their range-topping SLS AMG Gullwing. The AMG built SLS will be available for pre-order on the 16th of November where it will feature a price tag which starts at €149,000, excluding VAT, in Germany.

The options for the SLS AMG include ceramic composite high-performance brakes, an AMG performance suspension, light alloy wheels with a 5-spoke or 10 spoke design, a carbon fibre engine cover, “alubeam silver” and “monza grey magno” paint schemes.

Inside houses an AMG Performance steering wheel in leather and Alcantara, sport seats, carbon-fibre trim, exclusive nappa leather upholstery, a memory package for the front seats and steering wheel, a six-disc DVD changer and finally a Bang & Olufsen BeoSound adio system.

Ford Has Said That They Are Looking To Replace The Crime-Fighting Crown Victoria

Ford announced that they will produce an all-new Police Interceptor which will designed and engineered to replace the legendary Ford Crown Victoria. The American automaker will stop production of the Crown Victoria during late 2011, where the new crime fighter will take the streets.

Ford controls about 75 percent of the police pursuit vehicles in the United States, and they are investing a load of cash into designing and building a new police interceptor that meets durability, safety and performance standards.

The automaker has not yet said if they will base the new model on something already in the Ford line-up, or if they will create a new model with full specifications for the police.

Buick Are Looking To Target Younger Buyers With Their 2011 Regal

The Opel Insignia remake for America known as the Buick Regal will be introduced as a volatile performance car for the GM based company. The 2011 Regal will feature a water-fall grille, and small exterior differences to change its overall look when compared to the Insignia sedan.

The Regal will be aimed at the younger market where it will hopefully then be able to rival the Acura TSX, Audi A4 and Volvo S60 sedans. The company has said that they are looking to obtain customers in the age group of about 40 and 50 years old.

Buick’s Regal for 2011 will have a 182-horsepower 2.4-litre engine, along with a 220-horsepower 2.4-litre cylinder turbocharged engine.

The 2010 Nissan Leaf EV

Nissan has revealed a load of new images which concern the 2010 Leaf EV. The new electric-car will be produced in a capacity of 200,000 units by year 2012. The power will come from a 107-horsepower electric motor which uses a lithium-ion battery pack.

Peugeot Starts Acceping Pre-Orders For Their i0n Mini Car

Peugeot has started to take pre-order for the new all-electric i0n mini car for the UK. The new mini i0n is a rebadged Mitsubishi i-MiEV and it will fall part of the PSA Peugeot-Citroen and Mitsubishi partnership.

Alongside the Peugeot i0n, we’ll see Citroen release the C-Zero, which is also the same car… Pretty much.

There will be four doors, four seats and a 64-bhp electric motor with a top speed of 129km/h. This electric motor will have a driving range of 129km on a single charge, and it will be able to reach a full charge in six hours.

The UK Gets A New Range Topping Passat — The VW Passat Highline Plus

The Volkswagen Passat sedan and Passat Estate will now benefit from a higher-spec trim level. The new UK Passat Highline Plus will build on the Highline model as it adds a chrome grille, Bluetooth connectivity with touchscreen adapter, a new Volkswagen RNS 310 Satellite navigation unit and finally a new radio and Mp3 compatible CD player.

The Passat Highline Plus will include ABS, ESP, six airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels, semi-automatic climate control, cruise control and leather upholstery.

Pricing starts at £20,515 RRP ‘on the road’ for the 2.0-litre TDI 110 PS.

The Mercedes-Benz ML450 Hybrid — On Lease Only

Mercedes-Benz will release a new ML450 HYBRID onto the US market. The new ML450 Hybrid will not be for sale as it will only be part of a special lease option. The lease will be set at $659 per month for 36 months, or $549 per month for 60 months.

The ML450 HYBRID will have a 3.5-litre Atkinson-cycle V6 petrol engine with a mean 275-horsepower and 258lb-ft of torque. There will be a set of magneto electric motors which integrate into the automatic transmission. These motors produce 80 horsepower with 192lb-ft of torque, and 83-horsepower with 173lb-ft of torque.

The electric motors will be able to work along with the engine for a total of 335 horsepower with 381lb-ft of torque. The 0-96km/h time is expected to be 7.8 seconds while the top speed is 210km/h.

Fuel economy will be set at 21mpg for town, and 24mpg for the highway. There will be a 46 percent better fuel economy when compared to the V8 powered ML550.
